About Second Growth Studio

Second Growth Studio is an independent furniture studio devoted to the creation of exceptional, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Rooted in almost three decades of traditional English joinery and carpentry, the studio brings together time-honoured craftsmanship with a quietly contemporary sensibility. Every piece is individually conceived, meticulously crafted and finished by hand, with an uncompromising attention to proportion, material and detail.

At the heart of the studio lies a deep respect for timber and the stories held within it. Our materials are rescued from trees destined to be lost or burnt, allowing exceptional natural timber to begin a second life as something enduring. Each board, grain and imperfection is embraced as part of the piece's character rather than concealed.

Traditional English and Japanese influences, hand-cut joinery and considered contemporary detailing come together intuitively. Nothing is excessive. Nothing is incidental. Every element exists with purpose.

There are no collections produced in quantity and no two commissions are ever identical. Each piece is created in its own time, around the character of the timber and the vision of the individual who commissions it.
